Haley and Dylan were high school sweethearts. Their four years of long-distance dating after graduation must have seemed like an eternity, but it only made them stronger. On August long weekend, they joined family and friends for a rustic yet elegant backyard wedding on Haley’s parent’s acreage near Outlook.
When I met up with Dylan and his groomsmen, they were joking around over beers on the steps like it was any old Saturday afternoon. I suspect that there would have been wrestling, if not for the suits. Haley and her bridesmaids were just as relaxed, and we even had time to spare for some photos of the bridal party before heading to the ceremony.
The ceremony was held in a beautiful, sunny little spot behind the house. I later learned that it was once a garden plot, planted with grass in anticipation of their engagement :) Surrounded on all four sides by trees, it made a perfect outdoor ‘room’ where Haley and Dylan said their vows under a willow arch made by her father.
After the ceremony, a plane flew over to take a giant group photo of all the guests. How cool is that! We headed off to the banks of the South Saskatchewan River for photos, at the same picturesque place where Haley and Dylan had their graduation photos taken. Then it was back to the acreage to celebrate the night away.
Congrats Haley and Dylan!
