I met Ashley and Mitch last year at Krista and Brad’s wedding. They were the maid of honor and best man, recently engaged, and I remember thinking what a great couple they were. Ashley was so sweet and thoughtful, and Mitch kept us laughing all day. So I’m not gonna lie, I was more than a little excited when they contacted me this winter and asked if I’d shoot their Prince Albert wedding.
I met up with the girls at Novus Salon and then headed to Ashley’s house for some last minute preparations before their ceremony at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Ashley absolutely beamed as she walked down that aisle, and Mitch had a pretty big grin himself – bigger than normal, I mean. After the ceremony we headed to a few locations around town for pictures. The hot pink wedding colors were a cheerful contrast to the gloomy skies, as were the awesome wedding party themselves.
It might have rained a little. Ok, fine, it poured. But as Ashley has been known to say: “ain’t nobody got time for that”.
The reception hall was full of friends and family, music and laughter. After a fantastic supper and the most hilarious best man speech I have ever heard, it was time to get down to some serious partying.
The rain never let up the day Ashley and Mitch tied the knot, and that was totally fine. After all, a knot that gets wet is extremely hard to untie.
Congrats Ashley and Mitch!
