The year was 1999. Sam and Jason met at a dance in their hometown of Fond-du-Lac, and they have been inseparable ever since. On June 22nd, 2013 – 14 years and two handsome sons later – they joined with family and friends at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Prince Albert to make it official.
The bridesmaids walked down the aisle in silence, their matching moccasins barely whispering along the carpet. As Sam entered the room and Jason got the first glimpse at his bride, a Dene hymn suddenly rose up from the congregation. I’m not going to lie, I got some serious chills.
After the ceremony, we headed down to beautiful Miller’s Hill Park for some photos. Jaxon wasn’t too interested, and thought he’d hit up the spray park instead, but big brother Jeremy was too fast on his feet.
The reception was held at the Ches Leach Room in the Art Hauser Centre. I wasn’t providing reception coverage this time around, as Sam and Jason opted for a photobooth instead. I couldn’t resist sneaking out during their first dance, though! Their dance was rocking with a live band and one mean fiddle player – even my tired feet couldn’t stay still.
True to her ways of putting others before herself, Sam’s dream for her wedding day was that everyone have a good time and make wonderful memories. Sam and Jason, thank you for letting me capture these memories for you.
