Presley’s Back Alley Grad Photos in Downtown Saskatoon
When Presley reached out to book her grad photos, I knew this session would be special. A Centennial Collegiate graduate with a love for architecture, creating art, and a wide range of music, Presley brought a fresh, fun perspective to her grad session. Instead of a more traditional backdrop, she chose something completely different – back alley grad photos in downtown Saskatoon, filled with street art, graffiti, and yes, even dumpsters!
Our downtown is packed with hidden gems, from vivid murals to layers of graffiti. Before her session, Presley and her mom drove around, scouting out their favorite murals. I also came prepared with my favourite spots that offered great light and a unique vibe. The planning paid off, allowing us to make the most of our time with Saskatoon’s vibrant back alley street art. And combining our ideas made for an exciting collaboration!
Presley had no hesitation about leaning into the gritty side of these spaces. When I jokingly mentioned, “I can’t really avoid all the dumpsters,” her response was, “Good! I like the dumpsters!” Her bold, creative energy and unique perspective carried through the entire shoot.
One of the highlights of downtown Saskatoon is how the street art transforms otherwise overlooked places into colorful, story-filled backdrops. Each vibrant wall felt like an extension of Presley’s personality: creative, expressive, and adventurous. Presley’s choice to step away from tradition and embrace Saskatoon’s alleyways truly made this session unforgettable.
Presley, it was so fun to explore the back alleys downtown with your adventurous spirit and artist’s eye. There are big things to come for you at the Waterloo School of Architecture – congratulations!
