Neave’s Downtown Saskatoon Graduation Photography Session

“I’m a bit nervous,” Neave said. “I’ve never done a photoshoot before.”

So I told her not to worry, we’d start off easy. I explained how I just wanted her to walk towards me. The next thing I knew, she was strutting across that parking garage roof like it was a runway at fashion week. So I’m still not sure that I believe her 😉

Neave’s downtown Saskatoon graduation photography session was not only fun, but it was also an adventure. She obviously chose some great offbeat locations for her shoot, including a back alley, brick walls, and parking garages. Unquestionably, that touch of grungy urban flair was the perfect contrast to her elegant, glittery gown.

Whenever I asked her if she was ok to sit here or lean there, she’d say “whatever it takes for the photos.” I knew the second that Neave agreed with zero hesitation to sit in a back alley parking stall that it would be her sneak peek. So I highly recommend taking a cue from Neave and just going for it! Dresses can be cleaned, the photos will be worth it, and you’ll have a ton of fun along the way.

Earlier in the day, when I’d checked the forecast, it was calling for rain later that evening. Not wanting to have to cut the session short, we decided to start half an hour early. And boy, were we glad we did! The light ended up being beautiful, the rain never came, and Neave got an extra half hour out of me instead 😉 It also meant we were able to finish the session with a sunset on the riverbank, overlooking the downtown Saskatoon skyline.

Neave enjoys being active by running and working out, and playing a variety of sports. She also loves to spend time with her family and her rescue cat Camo. A Centennial Collegiate graduate, she’s got some big plans! She’s already been in the army reserves for years. In addition, she’s off to Sask Polytech for their Indigenous Policing Prep Program.
