Sarah’s Grad Photos in Waskesiu

It’s hard for me to not take full advantage of the beauty of Waskesiu Lake whenever I’m there for a wedding. The warm evening light, the beaches that are all but deserted as the sun sets – I always tell myself I’m going to take an evening to relax, but I can’t resist. I always end up butt-deep in the lake, photographing a gorgeous grad. This beautiful late July evening was no different for Sarah’s grad photos in Waskesiu.

If you’re an adventurous soul, consider having your grad photos done after graduation. It’s a great opportunity to get images that you’ll love without having to worry about keeping your dress pristine. Another bonus is that you’ll be able to travel to a location that you might not have had time to otherwise (I’m in Waskesiu a few times in 2020 – message me for dates!). Even if you stay close to home, I recommend planning your grad session for a day other than grad day. It’s such a busy day already. Embrace the celebration with your family and friends instead!

It was so cool to finally meet Sarah. Sarah’s mom and I go waaaaay back to our own time in high school, so I was delighted when they contacted me about this session. Sarah is super chill, with a great low-key sense of humor and an adventurous spirit. We wandered around in the woods for a while, waiting for the sun to drop a bit before hitting the beach during golden hour.
