Shannon and Fred’s Intimate Saskatoon Wedding at Hearth Restaurant
“We want to be together at the end of the day.”
This is how Shannon described their wedding vision when she first inquired about wedding photography. I immediately loved how this could be taken so many ways. Coming home to each other at the end of a long day, and enjoying an Old Fashioned (their favourite cocktail) together. Planning a wedding that’s intimate and intentional, where the only thing that matters when it’s over is that they’re together. And of course, simply sharing a life, for a lifetime.
One thing that Shannon and Fred love to do together is cook, but they also enjoy going out somewhere nice and letting someone else do the cooking. They shared their first date at Hearth Restaurant, and it was so special that they could return to this cozy place to celebrate their intimate wedding day.
Shannon started off the day getting ready with her kids at the James Hotel. Her daughter Alexandra zipped her into her dress, her son Wyatt helping with her shoes. Shannon’s sister, having just driven in from Ontario, surprised her by arriving at the hotel to share a few moments together before the ceremony. Both Shannon’s and Alexandra’s bouquets held pins of bluebirds, symbolizing Fred’s parents, who are no longer with them.
The guest list was restricted due to public health orders, but the emotions in the room were enough to fill any large venue, as they said their vows in a ceremony officiated by a dear longtime friend. They enjoyed a hearty brunch, with Fred’s meal served on his mother’s china. With their kids by their sides, close family and friends paid tribute with heartfelt impromptu speeches and, of course, a few Old Fashioneds.
A few refreshing raindrops during their formal photos were the perfect ending to this sunny, beautiful. Congratulations again, Shannon and Fred, on your laid-back, meaningful day filled with authentic moments and sweet memories.
“Words cannot describe the top-notch experience we had with Tracy from Copperblue Photography. The way she captured the images tells the complete story of our love, our families and our wedding. When we received the video preview and images I was brought to tears with the way she captured every moment, every emotion. We will cherish our photos forever. She is the absolute best, a true artist in her craft!”
