Par Place Wedding | Allison & Foster

The hotel room buzzed with good-natured teasing and laughter as Foster’s dad helped him with his tie. His mom watched with a proud smile. Meanwhile at home, Allie’s bridesmaids added the finishing touches and her mother laced up her gown. The morning flew by, as it does on a wedding day. It was soon time for their Par Place wedding.

Allie and Foster arranged a first look before their ceremony, so they could spend a few moments alone together before the craziness of their day began. A hawk drifted lazily overhead as Foster waited for Allie to arrive, to share those few moments together, where it all becomes real. Certain spiritualities revere the hawk as a messenger bird, bringing you a sign that you are on the right path. What a beautiful portent with which to begin your wedding day!

Foster smiled as Allie walked towards him up the aisle, on the arm of her father. Stopping to hug her mother before she joined him, she noticed her grandma watching proudly, and took a moment to reach out to her too. Then, under sunny skies, enveloped in the scent of pines on a warm breeze and the smiles of their loved ones, Allie and Foster made their promises for the future.

Allie and Foster are talented musicians who bonded over their love of music on the night they met. They formed a band together and even travelled to the US to record a demo. They infused this love of music into their wedding theme, incorporating it not only into their invitations and decor but right throughout their reception. Instead of a guestbook, they had guests sign a guitar, and used the case as their card box. Their favours were the most adorable personalized guitar picks. Frames held descriptions of their song choices and explained why they were special to the couple. They even created a music-themed game, where guests had to hold up records to guess the song before they could get their supper!

The evening was special not only for Allie and Foster, but for Foster’s grandparents, who were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary! Foster’s grandfather played in a band for decades, and was famous for his accordion playing at family events. It was only fitting that a special rendition of the Chicken Dance – with all the guests on the dance floor! – was dedicated to them.

While I was getting to know Allie and Foster, they both described each other as someone who would be an amazing parent someday. Little did we all know that someday would be sooner than anticipated. At the end of their slideshow, they’d snuck in one extra slide to announce their surprise. The crowd erupted in excitement. This little one is due any day now, and she will be blessed with such a kind and creative family. Congratulations, Allie and Foster, for so many reasons!
