Jason’s Saskatoon Graduation Pictures at the University of Saskatchewan
Meet Jason! A 2024 graduate from Centennial Collegiate, Jason headed south this fall to Williston State College in North Dakota. A talented outfielder, Jason signed with the Tetons baseball team and will study business management while chasing his dreams on the field. We met up for his Saskatoon graduation pictures on the University of Saskatchewan campus, and his session was such a fun mix of his personality and style. Since he’s not a huge fan of having his photo taken, we kept things relaxed, which made all the difference. It was awesome to see him loosen up and let his personality shine through!
If you’re like Jason and don’t love being in front of the camera, don’t worry! Here are my top tips to make your grad session stress-free and fun:
- Choose a location where you are comfortable. Pick a spot that feels like YOU! If you’re not an outdoorsy person, skip the bugs and nature and opt for an urban vibe. Don’t want an audience? Maybe a session downtown isn’t for you. Work with your photographer to find a place that feels comfy and meaningful – even better if it’s somewhere you already know and love. Feeling relaxed and in your element makes all the difference!
- Listen to music! Blast some tunes that pump you up on your way to the session, or play your favourite playlist during the shoot!
- BE YOURSELF! If you’re not a super smiley person, of course it’s going to feel weird to be smiling at a camera all of the time. I’m not going to make you do that. We’ll get some smiley ones for Mom, but we’ll also get much better results if I just let you be yourself!
- Trust your photographer. A good photographer will guide you through the session so you don’t have to stress. You don’t need to know how to pose, so don’t worry about that – your photographer has you covered! They’ll get you through it quickly and painlessly, but don’t hesitate to let them know if you’re uncomfortable or need a break!
- Enjoy the process! Let go of any expectations you have – how you imagine the session will go, or how much you think it’s going to suck. Let your photographer do their thing and focus on having a good time. You might just discover it’s not so bad, and maybe even fun!
Jason, congrats on your graduation and thanks for a fun evening! Best of luck at Williston State!

great grad photos, love his style! also great advice on how to be more comfortable at the session
Thanks Michelle!
Love the suit for a senior session. Very timeless look
Totally agree! Our senior sessions are a bit different here, grads typically wear what you would call their prom outfits, so a lot of suits, which I love!
