Saskatoon Microwedding at Lucky Bastard Distillers | Kaylee and Mitchell

Kaylee and Mitchell’s Saskatoon Microwedding at Lucky Bastard Distillers

Note: This post is part of my archived portrait and wedding photography portfolio. I am no longer booking grads, engagements, or weddings, and now focus exclusively on live music photography and band promo photos.

“I’m so glad we made it, look how far we’ve come my baby”

Kaylee and Mitchell are high school sweethearts. They got to know each other working in the chicken barns on Mitchell’s family farm. One Sunday morning, Kaylee woke up, excited. It was the day they’d planned to go pick out their puppy, Ruby. But first, she found a note on her bedside table. She found herself off on a scavenger hunt around their yard, wondering what the heck was going on. The prize at the end? Mitchell, asking her to be his wife.

They envisioned a rustic but glamorous wedding day, filled with the laughter and smiles of their favorite people. In these times, it was especially important to them to have their loved ones around, sharing these happy moments. Lucky Bastard Distillers provided the perfect venue for their intimate ceremony under its glitzy chandeliers. As Kaylee and Mitchell signed the registry, her brother and future sister-in-law sang. The lyrics sweetly summing up their high school romance, a decade together, and the journey to their wedding day.

“We mighta took the long way, we knew we’d get there someday”

Their original plan was to have the reception in the old chicken barn where it all began, decorated to replicate the rustic glam of their ceremony space. Due to gathering limitations, they instead enjoyed a delicious supper at Chop Steakhouse. That evening, the wedding party travelled to the family farm to celebrate. We were sure to capture some photos in front of the barn where their young love grew.

With rain in the distance, the sun lit the sky on fire over the fields near their home. Kaylee and Mitchell spent some time together as the sun set, reveling in the joy of their day.

“You’re still the one I want, for life”

Congratulations, Kaylee and Mitch!
