Saskatoon Senior Photos with Reese
In my off-season, I like to use the time to try new things and keep improving my skills. The last few years, I travelled to St. Louis, MO for Shutterfest. It’s always a fun place to stretch my creative wings and learn from other photographers. One such session lead by Brandon from Hunter Scott Imagery lit a fire under me. He’s known for his dramatic dress shots. After seeing him in action, I was itching to try his techniques out for myself. I found the perfect location, put out a model call, and connected with the fabulous Reese.
We spent such a fun evening together creating these images! I had a very specific image in mind. After a quick warm-up, we spent most of our time together working to create that. It’s very different from the way I normally photograph a grad, where I focus on creating a variety of images for their gallery. It’s a treat to really slow down and take my time to figure out something new and creative, without the pressure (although of course it was still a race against the sunset!). Reese was the perfect model and so patient while her mom and I figured out how to throw the fabric just right.
I’m going to let you in on a secret: you don’t have to have a huge fancy dress to create dramatic images like these! Let me know if you’d like to add a little something extra to your grad photos!
