Kirstin and Rob’s Vanscoy Wedding
Kirstin and Rob celebrated their love of the country throughout their Vanscoy wedding. Kirstin’s family farm was the perfect place to witness this new page in their family history, and their day reflected the land and people they hold so dear.
Their day began with Rob and the guys getting ready on Kirstin’s brother’s farm. Rob helped his nephews with their suspenders and bow ties while the adorable ring bearer took care of business on his ‘phone’. Kirstin surprised Rob with a boudoir album, which proved to be a big hit. Down the road at Kirstin’s family farm, the finishing touches were put on hair and makeup, including Kirstin’s baby niece who got her first haircut that day! Her bridesmaids and mother helped her into her gown and shoes, and Kirstin watched out the window with anticipation. Guests arrived, milling around on the lawn, laughing and hugging. Excitement filled the air.
Kirstin’s cousins sang “I Get to Love You” as she walked down the grassy aisle. Rob’s face absolutely burst into a smile as he saw her for the first time. In her parents’ backyard, Kirstin and Rob pledged their vows, surrounded by the flowers her mother grew blowing in the breeze. Kirstin tried to hold in her emotion as Rob snuck glances at her throughout the ceremony, grinning. They signed the register to “Can’t Help Falling in Love” – the wedding song of both sets of their parents – played on the cello. It was the perfect place to witness this new page in their family history.
With a lot of out-of-town guests and two very large families, a big party with a fun dance (and a caesar bar!) was a must! After the speeches, Kirstin and Rob snuck outside. As the warm sun went down, they enjoyed a few quiet moments together before rejoining the packed dance floor to kick the celebration into high gear.
“You finally got the one you wanted!” I overheard someone exclaim to Rob as their guests congratulated them.
He smiled over at Kirstin.
“I sure did.”
