Meet Kennedy, Class of 2020 from St. Joseph’s High School in Saskatoon. She’s a lover of country music, sunsets, sunflowers and daisies, and the simple things in life. She’s kind and funny as heck. But don’t be fooled by her sweet vibe for one second. She’s also a fierce and fearless athlete, kicking butt on the field as a wide receiver on the senior boy’s football team, with hopes to play for the Saskatoon Valkyries someday soon.

Not only that, she’s got law school in her sights, with plans to become a business laywer and philanthropist. After she buys her parents a nice place, she’ll be working to open a homeless shelter and funding disease research. You don’t have to know her long to see her determination, and there’s no doubt that she will succeed at whatever path she takes.

We met up in my favourite hidden park to take advantage of the golden evening light, and it totally delivered. But what Kennedy truly dreamed of was grad photos in her favourite place – on the football field. Stepping onto the turf, she went from Cinderella princess to badass football player, complete with cleats and eye black, truly in her element. In a year where grads got a pretty raw deal, it was so special to bring this vision to life with her.

Congratulations Kennedy!

Huge thanks to Johnny Marciniuk, Operations Manager at Gordie Howe Sports Complex, for making this special session happen!
