Saskatoon Music Photography at The Refinery: Kasia Leigh Leonard with The Prairie Roots Ensemble – June 13, 2019
With a wide variety of styles, including folk, country, blues, bluegrass, ragtime and western swing, Saskatoon multi-instrumentalist Kasia Leigh Leonard has been referred to as the “Quentin Tarantino of music.” This year she was also the recipient of a Young Canadian Songwriter Award from by the Society of Composers Authors and Music Publishers (SOCAN). For this event at The Refinery, she performed with The Prairie Roots Ensemble in “Folkin’ Things Up”, with her original songs arranged and backed by by a jazz sextet (Colin Grant on trumpet, Rory Lynch on saxophone, Erika Rybinski on trombone, Harrison King on piano, Emmett Fortosky on bass, and Kyle Krysa on drums).
