Brynn’s Golden Hour Grad Photos in Saskatoon

Meet Brynn! Brynn is a 2023 graduate of Holy Cross High School here in Saskatoon. An avid artist, reader, and musician, she finds joy in drawing, music, and playing both the trumpet and piano. Now, she’s embarking on a new chapter at the Edwards School of Business at the University of Saskatchewan.

Brynn waited until mid-August to do her grad session, once the craziness of her last month of high school was over. It couldn’t have worked out better. Did you know that you don’t need to do your grad photos in June – who made that rule anyway?!

Brynn’s love of nature and a vision that included trees, fields, and water guided us to choose the perfect location. I always say that this spot never lets me down at golden hour. But I thought I might have to eat my words, as the sky looked a bit gloomy when we first started out! Not that I mind a bit of moody light when I can get it – it’s almost always sunny in Saskatoon! And it didn’t take long until the sun delivered that gorgeous hazy light we were waiting for!

Funny side note, I’ve photographed three grads in this location. And all three of them wore blue ball-gown style grad dresses and tiaras! So I guess if you’re aiming for a Cinderella vibe for your grad photos, this spot may be just the fit for you?

We explored the park, taking advantage of the beautiful grove of trees as the golden sunlight streamed in. As it soon dropped low behind the trees, we decided to mix things up, and headed down to the river. It was a bit of a scramble to get down to the water, but Brynn was up for the adventure, in the Converse high-tops she was rocking under her dress. And the pink cotton candy skies we found down there were worth the climb!
