Taylor and Sebastian’s Fall Engagement Photos at Chief Whitecap Park, Saskatoon
Imagine meeting your future partner in kindergarten. I mean sure, that happens. But now imagine meeting your future partner in kindergarten, and knowing all along that you would end up together.
These two always knew.
Sebastian and Taylor grew up as childhood best friends. Even in kindergarten, their six year old selves would tell you they were boyfriend and girlfriend. Her family members teased her endlessly about him. In grade two, he may have convinced her that he was a vampire, but she hung in there.
In between their childhood homes was a park, with a bench in front of a pond. Taylor wasn’t allowed to hang out with boys, so they’d meet there on their bikes, and sit on “their bench” to watch the rabbits, ducks, and beavers. When Taylor reached high school and was finally allowed to date, she only had one boy in mind. “It’s still the same boy?” her family members asked.
Yes. The same boy.
And then, on a low-key August day last summer, Taylor and Sebastian had returned to Moose Jaw to visit their families. He was particularly insistent that they went for a walk to their bench. After Taylor’s failed attempt at catching some frogs, they stood near their bench, watching the wildlife and reminiscing. Then Sebastian got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife.
Just like he always knew he would.
Above all, their journey from childhood friends to forever partners is a testament to the enduring power of love and friendship. Congratulations, Taylor and Sebastian <3
