Saskatoon Wedding Venues: Samantha and Brenden’s Guenther Farms Wedding
Samantha and Brenden met at a country bar in Saskatoon. She was the first girl he ever tried country dancing with and he was, by his own admission, awful. Fortunately, she didn’t care much about his dancing abilities. On their first date, Brenden hoped to impress her with the bright red sports car that he’d pulled out of storage just for the occasion. Turns out sports cars are not her style. However, non-cliché date he’d planned – axe throwing and ice cream – tipped the scales back in his favor. They found themselves talking a lot about their goals and future plan. So many of their visions aligned. He knew right away that she could be the one.
For Brenden’s mom’s 50th birthday, his dad bought a new stone for her engagement ring. They gifted the original stone to Brenden, who sat on Samantha’s finished ring for a month while they packed up and moved to BC. He had grand plans to propose at a Canada Day barn dance, but that fell through.
One day they decided to take the dog for a walk just outside of town. He snuck the ring into a backpack and brought it along. They found themselves at a beautiful spot overlooking the valley and sat together on the tailgate of the truck. Watching a thunderstorm roll by in the distance, they talked about their new life together in a new town. He asked to take some photos of her with the dog, sneaking the ring into a couple of photos. Offering her the phone so she could look through the photos, he sat back and waited for her to find the ring. “I spent so much time daydreaming about this amazing proposal and how she’d look and where we’d be and what I’d say and at the end of it all the only words I could get out of my mouth were ‘Will you?‘”
Samantha and Brenden dreamed of an elegant country wedding day surrounded by loved ones. Although their plans took some twists and turns this year, in the end they ended up with exactly that – and on the most beautiful autumn day too. Guenther Farms provided the perfect wedding venue for their intimate celebration, with its cute little red barn and beautiful grounds. As sunlight streamed through the barn windows, Samantha and Brenden said their vows in the sweetest ceremony officiated by a long time friend. After spending a laid-back afternoon visiting with family and laughing with friends, they took some time alone together to enjoy the quiet countryside and bask in the joy of finally being married.
After Brenden’s attempts at “dancing” on the night they met, he started to find new moves to learn and practice at home, and they make a point of going out dancing whenever they can. They love spinning around the dance floor, taking in the music and putting on a show for anyone watching. And in the same space where they’d said their vows, they did just that – the perfect and most fitting bookend to their day.
“Gonna take you dancing, when we get home/You’ll cry because you’re happy and that your love has grown/And I’ll kiss you on the forehead, and say baby what’s wrong?/You’ll say nothing, I just love you cause you never made me wonder/You’re the one I want”
So exciting to hear that your love has indeed grown, as you now prepare to welcome your sweet baby. Congratulations, Samantha and Brenden!

I think my favorite part was their wedding party and how they both had guys/girls in each side! I was in a wedding like that and had the best time!
tracy says
I loved that so much too! It feels so old fashioned to segregate it by gender and I can’t wait for this to become the norm for wedding parties!
