Ashley and Jonathan’s Martensville Wedding
Ashley and Jonathan met at a party and just hit it off! Their first date was at the Mendel Art Gallery, where they walked through the Civic Conservatory gardens at night. A few years later, they returned to the garden on an even more important occasion – the day Jonathan asked Ashley to be his wife.
They planned their Martensville wedding with a tent reception on Ashley’s parents’ acreage. Everyone gathered there to start the day together. Downstairs, Jonathan got ready with the help of his best man, who traveled all the way from Brazil. Upstairs, Ashley’s mom helped her into her dress and added the finishing touches. Her grandparents even got a surprise sneak peek at the beautiful bride! There were definitely some happy tears, which continued throughout their sweet ceremony at their church in Martensville.
Back at the acreage, smoke from the forest fires added to the dreamy, intimate atmosphere. Guests milled around the tent in their beautiful backyard, drinks in hand. Ashley and her mom grew their own succulents for the bouquets, and reflected the theme throughout the decor, right down to the the teal and lilac of the bridesmaids’ dresses. They also included plenty of rustic wood and gold touches, perfect for a cozy backyard celebration. As the sun went down, guests snuggled up in the tent for speeches and a romantic first dance (with sparklers!), before heating things back up on the dance floor!
