Olivia’s Grad Photos at River Landing: Ideas for Photo Locations in Saskatoon

Meet Olivia, a 2023 graduate of Bishop James Mahoney! Olivia’s a country music lover and true crime aficionado. After her gap year, she’s considering pursuing a career in criminal psychology! Olivia’s sweet, smiley pup Murphy joined us for a few photos at the start of her session, and then we were off exploring!

One of the great things about River Landing is how versatile it is. Indeed, it’s easy to see why it’s one of the more popular photo locations in Saskatoon. Every time I do a session in this area, I see something new! For example, it’s got such a diverse range of backdrops, from the shiny buildings of the towering urban skyline and the bridges of the South Saskatchewan River to the greenery of Victoria Park. It’s also home to iconic local landmarks such as the pumphouse, the Remai Modern art gallery, and K.W. Nasser Plaza. Further, it works great for a wide variety of styles and moods. There’s truly something here for everyone, and in my experience, we’ll run out of light before we run out of spots to try!

With her confidence and laid-back energy, Olivia was a natural in front of the camera. Her stunning sparkly black gown undeniably gave off vintage Hollywood vibes. Obviously, it begged for some dramatic lighting, particularly as the sun set over Riversdale. I bet Olivia didn’t expect to end her session standing on a cement block in a parking lot!
