Dawn and James’ Saskatoon Engagement Photography Session
It all started, like so many modern romances do, online. Dawn asked James what wine he liked, and the next thing they knew, they were getting to know each other over a bottle and some great conversation at Fionn MacCool’s. James proposed on Canada Day 2019, while the two were on vacation in California.
Dawn and James work hard, so make a habit of slowing thing down on Sundays to relax with their three cats, the dog, and a good movie. But when they get the chance, they play hard too. Whether it’s a summer night around a bonfire, quadding, or camping with friends, these two are always up for an adventure. So Dawn’s suggestion of a back road style engagement session, complete with James’ truck, was a perfect fit!
The canola was in full bloom the evening of their session, and they put their shitkickers on (Dawn’s term, totally stealing it from now on), hopped in the truck, and headed out to the country. I had met Dawn previously, when she was a bridesmaid at Susha and Matt‘s wedding. It was so fun to chat and catch up, and to get to know them as a couple. Like them, their session was relaxed, laid-back, and sweet. They cracked a few beverages (Corona, of course), teased each other and got cozy in James’ truck as the golden sun lit up the sky. We caught the sunset in a hayfield and ended with a bit of blue-hour fun on the dirt road.
Dawn and James, it was an absolute honor to capture these memories for you <3
