It all started when Kayla and Bryce met in grade nine. For the next nine years, they spent their free time together wakeboarding and relaxing at the lake, snowboarding in the mountains, looking for adventure, and making each other laugh. Bryce made one particular snowboarding trip to Nelson especially memorable by getting down on one knee before their first run of the day. They celebrated their tenth anniversary together with the best date idea ever – their wedding!
Kayla and Bryce’s Circle H Ranch wedding day began at Home Inn and Suites. The guys tied their ties and donned their funky socks in one room while the girls got ready in another, and laughter rang out from both rooms all morning. There were a few tears too, as Kayla and her sister tenderly affixed her grandmother’s brooch to her bouquet, and her mom buttoned up her gown.
Kayla and Bryce had planned on an outdoor ceremony, but the weather had other plans. Snow still lay stubbornly on the ground from the early fall snowstorm a week earlier, and a chill hung in the air. But a few space heaters later, and the rustic little chapel at Circle H Ranch was cozy warm and full of love as they said their vows.
Kayla’s eye for rustic elegance combined with Bryce’s artisan woodworking skills brought a woodsy vibe indoors to their reception hall, a nod to their love of the outdoors. A gorgeous cake competed for attention with a massive pile of donuts and other sweet treats in tiny jars on the dessert table. The speeches had everyone laughing, crying and then laughing again, and the dance floor absolutely shook once the party started.
All day long, Kayla and Bryce held each other so close – not just during their first dance, but whenever they could throughout the day. Even during their ceremony, they just relaxed right into each other. It’s the little things about love that speak the loudest – Kayla and Bryce, yours shouts loud and clear.
