Lindsay and Michael’s Wedding in Waskesiu
Lindsay and Michael met in university, in a history class. They were friends right away, and within a few years it developed into something much more. Lindsay and Michael love to travel together, and are always planning their next trip. It only seemed fitting that they got engaged during one of these great adventures. Michael surprised Lindsay by getting down on one knee during a walk in Faerie Glen on Scotland’s Isle of Skye. Soon they were planning a woodsy wedding in Waskesiu.
Lindsay spent the morning with her mom and sister at the salon, reminiscing about mom and dad’s wedding in the 1980s – complete (of course) with blue eyeshadow and tiny hats. Then it was back to the Hawood Inn to add the final touches. Lindsay’s sister helped her into her dress as the racers from a fun run passed by outside, while Michael and his groomsmen polished shoes and tied ties just down the hall.
Fall leaves crunched underfoot as Lindsay and Michael met for their first look on the path above the lake. They spent a few quiet moments alone together before heading to the Waskesiu Community Hall for their ceremony. A family friend played the bagpipes as they walked down the aisle in the cozy log cabin. In the warm glow of candles and fairy lights, they said their I Dos in front of the beautiful stone fireplace.
Neither of them are really into parties, so Lindsay and Michael opted for an afternoon reception. After a delicious lunch and the sweetest speeches from family and friends, guests launched into a fairly cutthroat game of Lindsay and Michael Trivia. The cake was cut and sweet treats served as guests mingled on the lawn with drinks from the hot chocolate bar. Then, in the last of the day’s warm autumn sunlight, they took a walk along the Waskesiu River before departing to celebrate at a small gathering that evening.
Congratulations Lindsay and Michael on your perfect fall day at the lake!
